Short Term Disability

The inability to work due to illness or injury can cause serious financial hardship for your family. Fanatics protects your income by paying 100% of your salary if you are disabled and not able to work for a short period of time because you’re sick or experienced a non-work-related injury.

Key features:

• Coverage is fully paid by Fanatics with no cost to you; you are automatically covered with no need to enroll.
• Claims process can begin after three or more days of disability; once approved, benefits are paid from the first day you became disabled.
• Pays 100% of your covered earnings (wages or salary, not including bonuses, commissions, or any other extra compensation).
• Benefits will be reduced by any amount you receive from a government source providing mandatory disability benefits.
• Coverage ends after 13 weeks of disability (for exempt employees who have two or more years of service, coverage ends after 26 weeks).

Pregnancy Disability Leave

Fanatics offers all regular full-time pregnant employees up to 12 weeks of paid Pregnancy Disability Leave to cover 100% of their base salary. Learn more about Fanatics’ pregnancy and baby bonding leave programs.

Long Term Disability

In case you have a disability that prevents you from working for an extended period of time, Fanatics offers a Long-Term Disability Program to protect you from loss of income and help you continue paying your bills and meeting your financial obligations during this difficult time.

Basic Long-Term Disability Insurance:

• Coverage is fully paid by Fanatics with no cost to you; you are automatically covered with no need to enroll.
• Benefits begin after you have been disabled for 90 days (for exempt employees who have two or more years of service, benefits begin after 180 days).
• Pays 50% of your monthly base salary (excluding variable pay), up to a maximum of $5,000 per month.
• Payments may be reduced by other forms of income, such as Social Security Disability Insurance payments.
• Benefit payments continue to either the age of 65 or normal retirement age under Social Security.

Voluntary Long-Term Disability Insurance:

• Coverage is optional and paid by you; you may enroll as a newly hired benefits-eligible employee, during our annual open enrollment period, or within 31 days of a life event.
• If you enroll later (during our annual open enrollment period or within 31 days of a life event), evidence of insurability (EOI) may be required.
• Combines with Basic Long-Term Disability to replace a total of 60% of your monthly base salary (excluding variable pay), up to a maximum of $10,000 per month for employees below the VP level and up to a maximum of $15,000 a month for VP level employees and above.
• Benefit payments continue to either the age of 65 or normal retirement age under Social Security.
